Aston Martin did some exceptional issues in its first century. The track-dominating DB3S. The precedent-setting DB4. The doorstop-shaped, excessively powered Lagonda. The totally lunatic, restricted version, $1.7 million One-77. The succesful and beautiful 2003 DB9. And most of all, the early Sixties DB5, the automotive that turned James Bond right into a gentleman.
It had its struggles, too, together with seven bankruptcies and a string of possession modifications resembling a sport of scorching potato. Previously few years, the struggles have mounted. Dumped by Ford within the run-up to the monetary disaster and independently owned since, it has been constructing its
